people here are so negative about ripoff report, but i use the site, and i think the value it provides WAY outweighs any negatives. I used it just this week to research mortgage ripoffs and scams, and what I learned would make you sick. One company alone had over a thousand reports filed against them, and with good reason. They are now gone, there's a class action lawsuit filed against them and the FTC is investigating. The kinds of practices they used to lure naive borrowers was disgusting, and without sites like the ripoff report, what recourse would these people have? The government is using the ripoff report to track down what really happened.

So complain all you want about how a few customers of yours had a false claim filed against them and how their businesses were so frail that one report brought them down, but without ror, A LOT of people may never have been heard. Who knows how many people read the reports in advance and saved themselves from what others were going through by avoiding a ripoff company?

So, I stand by the ripoff report for the good that it does and try to ignore the whining. there are valid ways to combat a report and smart ways to build goodwill to protect yourself from a slanderous comment or two (which, btw, people have to sign a terms doc stating what they're filing is not false or slanderous, so if they do, then shame on them). Maybe it sucks for a few people, and that's too bad, but we all know that with a free internet, if you have an enemy, he or she will find a way to blog or comment about you, whether it's through ripoffreport or some other site, including spinn. you do what you can, and you move on.
