Worth it just to see said site slide to #4
:)
Very nice article, entertaining and interesting.
This is something I've seen in the past as well. Kind of discouraging.
Something worth taking a closer look at. My own experience, has yielded different results for repeating a keyword too many times.
Perhaps, someone has to file a spam report with Google?
Makes sense. Otherwise spammers wouldn't create pages that read like
viagra viagra buy viagra buy buy cheap viagra buy viagra buy viagra buy cheap viagra buy cheap viagra online buy viagra great prices on viagra
Hilarious.
not very impressing statement since there are not more than 60 hits for the phrase (minus the inboundlinks plus anchortexts is equal no competition) :( ;)
But surely that means that keyword density does in fact matter? *slaps forehead in shock*
That is hilarious. I guess SEO penalties can only work against you, and never for you. HaHa. Try the reverse and I bet you other site gets knocked off the map.
great post! I guess SEOmoz is trusted by Google that's why it is not really penalized that easy.
I would imagine that it is the trust rank of the links that really do the trick. Tried linking back from link farms?
mmm.... how quickly can you burn a domain? :P
Poor SEOmoz... maybe it should ban your profile ;)
"I guess SEOmoz is trusted by Google that's why it is not really penalized that easy"
I would agree wholeheartedly with that statement... the "trust factor" definitely gives you some leeway IMO.
Nothing like painting a target on your back and then posting with a big "neener neener" so Matt can give you a handjob in 5...4...3...2...
Hum...could this explain why seomoz.com is now #64 for the term "seo"? Tricky Darren...he must be trying to take his competitor down. Funny post and experiment though. :)
I've got them at #16 on my results...
