I’m not sure how making money online has to do with Carmen Electra or Paris Hilton, but MMO bloggers seem to be including "hot chicks" and half naked celebs in every post

I do not see anything Sphinn worthy, here.

Sex sells. The only time it is inappropraite, is if the blog is not targeting an adult audience. Now a days, it appears that youths are all too eager to get naked. So, it could also be a generation gap problem.

how is making money online classified as an "adult audience"? You have 12-15 year old kids trying to learn how to make money online...

Speaking of 12-15 year olds, are they not the ones who are reported to send each other naked pictures of themselves on their cell phones?

but does that make it appropriate?

I really do not get what the issue is here.

SEX is all over the Internet.  Nothing new about that.  Issues with particurlar sites should be taken up with the respective websites / blogs.  The only thing that I can really add is that some webmasters are totally oblivious to the sensibilites of females.  And, if you are going to post pictures of half naked females, then you better figure out how you can set your blog up so that such stuff is filtered out by those not interested in seeing naked females, etc., etc. etc..

And, I suppose some operators of scrapped content blogs are letting offensive picutres get through.

If you look at the comments on the post, youll see that many of the female bloggers are offended by some of the pictures, its just not something I want to see when Im reading about blogging, plugins or making money online.

Ffnstuff -
I appreciated your post. You can stand back and let these uncivilized bloggers shoot themselves in the foot, as they are clearly declaring that their intended audience does not include you or any other woman or man who finds a disrespectful attitude towards human beings to be unacceptable.

So, no links from us, no feedreader signups, no professional respect from us.

As I see it, you've got two options when someone offends you. Walk away from it shaking your head, hopefully back to the decent people with whom you've surrounded yourself, or, confront the blogger and explain exactly why their content is offensive to you. There is some chance...albeit small...that your personal response might expose the blogger to feelings they don't know exist. It might make them think twice about whether they want to publish hurtful or unsavory content. Or, they might just dismiss you with a snort.

Sometimes, people aiming for higher, more civilized standards in both business and in life CAN make changes happen by walking into the situation. Not often, but sometimes.

At the very least, I am sorry that you have been offended by such unenlightened content. I know the feeling.

Seems to me, that if this topic has gone hot, then all you really have to do is make it to the top ten. Make it to the top ten, and people will Sphinn just about anything.

stop bitching just because your nasty and jealeous
the human body shouldn't be something to be offended by
i don't care how its portrayed (sure there may be some exceptions)
but grow up, stop breeding stupidity

Justageek - Wow, totally inappropriate way to speak to the woman who authored this post, which she had every right to do. Don't like it? Don't sphinn it. Accusing someone of 'b*******' and being stupid is not constructive criticism...and especially ineffective to accuse people of stupidity while misspelling the word 'you're'.

Nudity and sex in advertising is a matter of preference. I don't agree with Miriam's point of view but I respect her viewpoint anyway because not everyone likes vanilla ice cream and you don't call them stupid just because they don't. It's not a matter of intelligence its a matter of taste.

You really cannot have it both ways. One may argue that some people get more attention than others because they are good looking women and the marketing representative of company X hiring does so because she's hot.

Yeah, but if they don't like chocolate, they're totally stupid ;)

Personally, I felt the original blog post had not much to it and was not worth sphinning. It was almost like the first quarter of a blog post, imo.

I agree, it comes across like an example from a broader subject.  Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting example, but I think the major issue with displaying such images is more to do with relevance than any potential offence - unless the images become pornographic.

On a side note, what's happening with writers' spelling of late? I find the lack of a quick spellcheck much more offensive than beautiful naked women ;o)

So do book authors, musicians, athletes, professional sports teams, retail stores, restaurants, TV programming, commercials, the advertising/marketing industries, and hollywood, just to mention the starting lineup.

I recall a SEO from down under who had sexy lingerie advertising on his SEO blog.  Personally, I thought that his tastes were offensive to females and were not appropriate for an SEO blog.  He was at the time a top ten poster on the Google Webmaster Help group.  I told him what I thought about it, too.  He did not appreciate my comments about being insensitive to females very much, as I recall.

Sex sells.... jus' ask Tucker Max. Finished his book and the site on the web. Doesn't surprise me that so many people are resorting to shamelessness in this day and age. Jus' look at YouTube. I'd say over half the tags having to do with sex are jus' the attempt to get page views... sex jus' sells...
